Once again, thank you for this gift of your weekly writing. I, too, loved hearing that 2 minute wordless moment. Just beautiful. And so you :-)

It was the highlight of FAI to meet you and get to play a few notes on the Manulenjo! One inheritance I hope to pass on like a piece of old sheet music is the surety of each soul’s importance, single notes in the symphony of life. And I’m so thankful to receive this newsletter now and get to see your one note song beautifully illustrate that.

The “wordless moment” reminded me of meditation groups I used to attend and we would chant “OHM” for several minutes. We would harmonize our voices and unite our hearts and minds.

Noel, thank you for adding the "blow by blow" Verse by Verse as to what was going on in your brain/heart as you sang Standing on the Shoulders . as you have been singing some older songs, I wonder what you are really saying cleverly crafted words ! ?

Listened to the "wordless moment" in our back room, with birds singing an accompaniment outside my window. And now my day is nearly perfect.

When I was newly a teen, my late brother 4 1/2 years older, shared a bedroom with me. As I said once to an audience in introducing Peter Yarrow (benefit concert series that Noel and Dick Kniss joined for another year), that from our room came the sounds of the Beatles...........and Peter Paul and Mary. To some an odd combo, to me a very natural coupling..........How beautiful and moving their music was, the compositions themselves, the harmonies, that's all recorded for posterity, and important to all of us. What stands out for me is the semi circle they formed when singing live. They looked at each other, a loving trio of faces, but there was that opening to the audience, and we knew we were to enter that space, joining in with our 3 friends on stage. The intimacy of the music was paired with this positioning, and we were all part of the performance...........

When Mary passed away, it was hard to deal with the loss. One morning I decided to start at the beginning and I chronologically followed them track by track until the last album. For 2 or 3 weeks I listened during a long commute twice a day. The loss didn't go away, but I was reminded that PPM (plus 2) would be with me until I moved on from this life. We are blessed in many ways in this life; living during the PPM years was a very very special blessing.

Thanks for your perceptive comment about the trio's semicircle that invited the audience into their performance.

Thank YOU, Jeanne. I was searching for a word, it was 'invitation', they absolutely included us, inviting us to join them. Sweet, sweet memories.
