Thank you for sharing your story about my friend and colleague Mike Renshaw. I worked for the Courier Times for 44 years and was a friend of Mike's. While Mary was writing her column for our paper she came to our paper for a visit around 1987 and was very generous with her time. I believe we supplied the Radio Shack computer she used to transmit her stories. Later Mike invited my wife and I to see PPM at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia. We were invited back stage to hang out with Mary in her dressing room. Lots of laughs and fun banter. I treasure those memories.

Guys, Jean and Noel, loved this piece that I read as I saw the tragedy of the bridge accident in Baltimore. I and my late wife worked with Mike Renshaw on the book. I designed the ebook covers in several languages. Mike and I were colleagues and friends for 50 years. I am glad Mike and his wife, Regina, got to visit us in our home in San MIguel de Allende, Mexico. I was to come up to Mike's for a biannual visit to his home in Bucks. Instead I gave one of the eulogies at his funeral. One evening in Mexico we stream and downloaded additional PPM songs and told stories. I drove my VW to Philadelphia for the first PPM concert sometimes in the late 1960s and we saw you guys backstage. Noel, thanks for these emails and as a Quaker I appreciate your waging peace. Bill

Mary Travers was a beloved and esteemed role model to me from the time I discovered Peter, Paul, and Mary's music in their first album when I was 12 years old in 1964. I admired her so much throughout my youth and young adulthood. In 2007 I was living in Harlem and a member of the Riverside Church and it meant so much to me to attend her memorial there and to hear the many profoundly moving tributes to her amazing life. Thank you so much for posting this piece and pointing us to her book.

I just saw Peter and Noel Saturday night in Monterey, Ca. Then, for this to come up on my feed. ❤️. I am in the gym trying not to cry. My 9 year old granddaughter and my daughter were with me. Lighting 2 candles with them. Full of gratitude

This is such a touching tribute! I think most women can identify with insecurities and needing to discover ways to be heard.

This is such a lovely piece -- I can't wait to find Mary's book. (But please correct the name of Dolores Huerta.)

I once told Peter that I hung out after concerts with him and Noel because I didn't think I could learn anything from Mary. Wrong again!!!

What a beautiful tribute to an extraordinary woman. I was fortunate to have seen Peter and Noel this weekend and they always talk lovingly about her including her strength on stage.
