When I see vintage guitars, I think of the stories they have told and how they have been the willing instruments for Love and the Universe to communicate such an incredible array of thoughts, emotions, and messages, some no doubt very synchronistic for the listener. These guitars also represent symbiotic relationships. They are extensions of the player, so I think of the contribution of the musician and the songwriter to the stories. And with the guitars being made of wood, they are tied to the Earth and the Cosmos and express an even larger Divinity. Everything is connected, so I see the guitars (and all musical instruments) as part of a loving chain of communication that travels from Eternal Source to the ear, brain, and spirit of the listener, passing through the elements and various personalities along the way. Kind of blows the mind!
"A Higher Calling" was so evident in the work, music, storytelling and serving your communities in various ways. I'm so grateful to have been within the reach of your voices, guitars and lives. Thank you Peter, Paul and Mary. - You too, Noel.
In my experience being blessed by many instruments and the people who are in relationship with it in the home, I truly see instruments as a physical extensions that allow the player to say something that's "inside of them" to come out.and too, sometimes the instrument has something waiting to come outside of them that it shows the player . and they have different personalities over time. but that's a decussion for another time !
Hi Noel, I loved this post. I loved that the guitars are now in the Met; I love Peter's comment; and I love the humility you yourself shared in the post. It must have been a very special evening for you and you deserve it, friend.
Beautiful, insightful reflection!
We still have to get Peter and Noel a Kennedy Center Honor!!

I knew that already but it is good to be reminded. The pursuit of Fame is fleeting. The pursuit of quality and substance never gets old.
Thanks for the updates. I love reading them.
