I started to write a comment but it disappeared into the cyber vortex somewhere. i'll try later. > you mentioned bill bright and campus crusade < Traveled to so many colleges with the band Logos i was in for Campus Crusade ! blast from the past.
each one teach one were words many musicians, teachers, pastors, etc clung to during that time period. Of the handful of musicians that were leading the way on the new road of christian music and study centers . most had to keep one foot in their day jobs to have money to pay the rent then do music in christian coffee houses on the week ends. some churches were sending out mixed messages. they wanted to try out the new way of worship and of reaching out but would be upset if we asked to be paid something . there was a attitude "that if God gave you this form of worship,he will provide a way for your travels ,food ,equipment, and a place to stay if you traveled to get to their church." it was an odd dance we all were doing . so everyone was teaching one as to what churches and coffeehouses were receptive or not ,similiar to the way hobos would draw a sleeping cat outside of a house or other places where they could get a meal, take a bath, etc. the words are still true today tho ' Each one Teach one" !
hey, someone found my comment ! i just want to add onto it about the 60/70s. there was so much going on in Pgh. and across the everywhere. i was involved in the Pittsburgh Experiment . which was to see how to reach out in various ways..it was a very exciting time! one was thru a cafe that was only open for noon lunch. Noel this is where you come into play in pgh. you saw a christian record that was just made that had al mossburg and lynn noelle on it. al just happened to come in for lunch and i was working at the cash register and you were asked to lunch by lou hancherick. but you did recognize al and ended up talking to him.thus our cafe was used by God as a vessel to bring the two of you together. the were no outward signs of this being christian, which is what we wanted. it invited people in for a nice place to have lunch. if the spirit of God came as a side order to their sandwich, well so be it
