So well put Noel. I am unable to keep myself from shouting to all of those people who, like lemmings, follow this man. He is a polished huckster, a flim flam man, a snake oil salesman, a fraud who is only interested in what he can gain. Have we as a people, especially those who consider themselves children of God, sunk so low as to accept anything that come from the mouth of this pretender? I am fearful but I BELIEVE that LOVE will prevail.
I had promised myself that I would not write a comment to what ever this week's topic would be. This was Noel's and Jeanne's space ,learned people of God write here. Well,I made it to Friday before I wrote something ..... I felt too strongly about this topic to not put my two cents in. I had to read this one many times because I kept tripping up on the line "then you are in Trumps camp". The rock that was the problem was that I live in Redding Cal. and the church here contains most of the city for congregants including me and my daughter and son in law. My daughter works there so when I hastily moved here she had gone ahead and set up some wonderful people to plug me in,because of the ROCK she knew I would trip over. I'm am constantly biting my tongue( unless it's too important to not speak !) here. There are many good things here and then at times I feel like telling everyone Do Not Drink the punch.I do not understand the spell trump has on people.Blatant remarks and actions,the people brush them off like he''s a 3yr. old isn't he cute,he'll outgrow it . And because the generalization because of skin color ,I would like to wear a tee shirt "white, i'm for the other person running, Any other person running! !" . my daughter feels that way by the way so I don't have to disown her. Well I have to go and renew my Visa.
Somehow I have always understood Love as much larger than person to person. We were created by infinite Love that never disappoints as fallible people do. I trust in the Large Love that helps me to learn love as best I can.
Name dropper! How do you get get to hang with all those cool theologians? Sigh. The point is well taken. If we re-elect his orangeness, we risk ushering in the end of our democracy and possibly the escaton if I believed in such. Preach on , Brother Noel and come see us in Florida!
Love everything about this piece. If Trump following Christians would weigh his actions and words with Jesus’ words in THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT, they would see nothing he does or says are in harmony with Jesus teachings.
